OBITUARY
Frederick Kasdorf was born in Germany Feb. 18 1822, and died at the home of his son, Henry, in Capac, Mich., Dec 25, 1908, aged 86 years, 10 months and 3 days, In the year 1848 he came to Canada where, in 1855, he was united in marriage with Rachael Brennen. This union was blessed with 7 children- 5 sons and 2 daughters. Two sons preceded him in death. In the year 1861 he came with his family to Mussey Township, where he purchased a piece of wild land and in the course of years converted it into a fine farm, where he lived until a few weeks ago. Father Kasdorf was converted in the year 1861, when Rev. Rehm was the first missionary of the Evangelical church here. And at that time united with the Evangelical church, and proved to be a faithful member until death. By his departure the sorrowing widow is bereaved of her faithful companion who shared with her the joys and sorrows of the 53 years of married life. The children are bereaved of a father who was always ready to sacrifice for them. The Evangelical church sustains the loss of one of its charter members but our loss is his eternal gain. The funeral services were held from the Evangelical church on Sunday, December 27, conducted by Rev. A. A. Scheurer, assisted by Rev. Beane of the M E. church, and Rev. F. E Walter. The large congregation attested the high esteem in which the deceased was held.-Pastor. Card of thanks. -- The widow and children of the late Frederick Kasdorf desire to thank their neighbors and friends for kindness shown them during their late affliction -- The Family
