Koss lists death as 8/9 Feb 1880. Koss says that she was survived by 3 sisters and a brother - which accounts for five children in the family. D. Eggestein lists death place as Petersburg, MN.

He had suffered a nerve irritation for many years. (CB 24-12-1895, p829 ??). obit?- He had 10 children of whom 2 preceded him an death. obit?-He was survived by 5 sons and three daughters. After the death of wife, Fredericka, in 1880, he married Katherine Roschman in 1883. To this marriage was born one child of whom Ronald Dohrn of Renton, WA is a direct descendant. Sometime between the death of his first wife (1880) and his death (1895) he moved from the Park Ridge, IL area to Petersburg Twsp, Jackson Co, MN. Second wife, Katherine, survived Christian.....Dohrn's notes say: "He was known as Chris. He immigrated to America via New York. Age-19 (1851) - stowaway to avoid conscription in the Prussian Army. He is shown on the 1870 and 1880 Federal census for Maine Twsp, Cook Co, IL. and on the 1900 census for Petersburg Twsp, Jackson Co, MN. All ten children were born at Niles, Cook Co, IL. He and Fredericka Kasdorf were married in 1855."

Clara was born in Park Ridge, Cook Co, IL February 13, 1878.⁽³⁵⁾ Clara died August 19, 1898 in Petersburg, Jackson Co, MN, at 20 years of age.⁽³⁶⁾ inf/Koss/Dohrn- Clara Minnie Hausfeld and Herman John Eggestein were married a short 6 months and 3 days when they both died in a tornado at Petersburg Twsp, Jackson Co, on August 19, 1898. inf/Koss/Dohrn- Herman John Eggestein and Clara Minnie Hausfeld were both killed in a tornado on August 19, 1898 at Petersburg, Jackson Co, MN. They had been married only 6 months and 3 days. Koss said that Herman was survived by three sisters, 4 brothers, 1 step-brother and (notes illegible). Koss lists the birth date as 22 Jan 1898.
