• 167 i. Shirley Jean⁵ Kasdorf reference 12811 (#5252) was born in Baraboo, Sauk Co. Wisconsin February 19, 1938.⁽⁴⁶¹⁾ Shirley died June 17, 2005 in Madison, Wisconsin, at 67 years of age. Kasdorf, Shirley J. MADISON/BARABOO - Shirley Jean Kasdorf, age 67, passed away after a short but courageous battle with cancer on Friday, June 17, 2005, surrounded by family at the Karmenta Nursing Center, Madison. Shirley was born on Feb. 19, 1938, in Baraboo, the daughter of Walter and Dorothy (Schacke) Kasdorf. Shirley lived most of her adult life in Madison. She worked at Badger Prairie for over 20 years, before retiring in 2003. Prior to that she worked at Central Wisconsin Center with the Developmentally Disabled in Madison. She loved cooking, sewing, cross-stitching, crocheting, crosswords and reading. But most of all she enjoyed good times with her friends. Shirley had a very loving heart and sincerely cared about others. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by a sister, Donna Mercado in California; nieces and nephews, William, Juanita (Janie) Maria, Cristelo, and Ovidio; and several great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her very good friends, Jerry (Betty) and Linda Selmer, and Randy (Susan) and Amanda Brandes, and her beloved loyal K9, Misty. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; a sister, Betty Kasdorf; a nephew, Tito Arce; and her beloved dog Taffy. Funeral services will take place at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison on Monday, June 20, 2005, at 12 noon. A visitation will also take place at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
